Awakened messengers see the world differently. They see the truth of things. They see how things can be better. They see how we, as human beings, can level up.
They see the challenges that are in the way as well, most often because they’ve wrestled with those same challenges, fears and obstacles until they’ve found the solutions, done the inner work, and made it to the other side.
Awakened messengers speak from hard-earned experience, not only in their professional lives, but often a lifetime of struggling with a deep knowing that they are here to change the status quo.
As a kid, I got in trouble a lot for pointing out the proverbial pink elephant in the room – those family skeletons everyone knows are there but is pretending don’t exist. What I understood innately was that if we could just be honest with ourselves and each other, it would be healing. What I had to learn was how afraid people are of their own authentic nature. It was easier for them to silence a child than it was for them to own their truth.
So, I began writing. If I couldn’t speak the truth, I could put it on the page. Afraid of getting into trouble for what I was writing, I began to put those pink elephants into stories that only I could understand. Later, I would learn that was called metaphor.
I enjoyed writing and got good at it. The first time I was paid to write was when I was about 10 or 12 years old. An entrepreneurial family member needed a newsletter sent out to his clients and he hired me to write them.
Being able to communicate facts and information in a way that others wanted to hear became an invaluable business skill that I have used ever since. The more personal truths took much longer to learn how to give voice to again.
My first book, “You. Rising! Reclaim Your Life. Live Your Purpose.” was first published in 2005. I’d never crafted a book before and didn’t have a mentor, coach or guide to help me. I learned everything about writing, publishing and marketing the hard way. It took several re-writes but that book earned an international award – and changed my life as much as it has changed readers’ lives.
Once it was published, friends, colleagues and other entrepreneurs let me know that they wanted to write a book too. They asked if I’d help them. That’s when I began coaching speakers, trainers, consultants, coaches, and other experts in their fields to write books that got their message out to a wider audience.
Between 2010 and 2013, I was back in school working on a master’s degree, despite working full time and being a single mother. I used those years and my thesis research project to take my author coaching to the next level. As an inter-disciplinary student, I was able to pull from decades of knowledge across multiple disciplines to take a deep dive into how to create massive influence as a nonfiction author. My work was PhD reviewed by my instructors and advisors at every step, and earned me my MA in Organizational Communications and Leadership. That thesis, and the 10 secrets of influential authorship it revealed to me, became my next book, “Leverage: Authorship for a New Millennium”.
Now, almost 20 years after I began writing my own first book, and more than 35 years after I first began getting paid for writing nonfiction, I’m still working with authors just like you from all over the world to focus their message, write their books, and leverage their knowledge to build their own business while helping change the lives of their readers.
It’s one thing to be able to sell books. It’s another to be able to craft a book so that it does more than collect dust on someone’s shelf after the first few chapters have been skimmed through.
Every author wants their book to make a real difference. But very few actually know how.
Secrets of The Awakened Messenger is a process that blends together my lifetime of experience writing nonfiction, decades of coaching professional speakers, trainers, consultants and other experts from all over the world, plus my original research into how to craft a book that’s truly influential.
As much as I would love to work personally with everyone, there just aren’t enough hours in the day and the truth is, not everyone is ready.
There are those who want to write a book with their name on it, but don’t want to do the writing themselves. That’s totally OK! They need a ghost writer, but that’s not me.
There are those who want to write a book, and are willing to do the work, but they have other obstacles they’re facing. That’s totally OK! In fact, I haven’t worked with an author yet who didn’t have some kind of fear, life circumstance, or even a learning disability such as dyslexia. The obstacles are overcomeable, if you’re willing to take action.
And that’s the real question: how willing are you to take action that truly changes your life, the life of those you love, and the lives of readers around the world? Because writing a book WILL do that. If it’s done well, it’ll be for the better for everyone! But it will take time, energy, and it may not look like you thought it would.
I invite you to ask yourself a simple question and be really, really honest with yourself: Am I ready to take action that changes my life and the lives of others? Or would I rather keep doing what I’ve done up until now and wondering “What could be…”?
If waiting feels more right for you right now, I absolutely respect that and encourage you to honor it. Follow your heart, and allow it to guide you. You’ll know when the right time for you arrives.
If your heart is calling you to take action now, great! The next step is to find out if we’re a good fit or not. When I take on a client, we usually work together for 3 – 6 months, sometimes longer depending on what stage of the process they’re in when we start. So I want to make sure we can work well together, and that I am giving you the best of what I have to offer.
If you’re ready, click the button below to take the quick survey to find out if we’re a good fit.
If we are, you’ll be invited to schedule a one-to-one, no obligation session with me to get your questions answered and learn more. The session is on Zoom, and directly with me – not an assistant or associate.
If for any reason we’re not a good fit, you’ll be taken to a resource page that will help you take the next steps in your journey.
So either way, you receive support and information that will help you.

According to a market research study, 96% of nonfiction authors generated more clients, 95% generated more speaking gigs, and 94% generated more leads.
Based in PhD Reviewed Research
To earn my master's degree in Organizational Communications & Leadership, I researched how to be a highly influential leader through nonfiction writing for a full year with two PhD advisors challenging me at every step. To this date, I am the only personal to have done this research and discovered the 10 secrets to influential authorship.
